10/05 - 12/05 CONSULTANT University Glee Club Of New York City
- Enhanced the club's data driven web site to include member directory update and access. (ASP, JavaScript, MS Access)
- 2/02 - 7/02 CONSULTANT, Merrill Lynch, Advanced Systems And Processing, Hopewell, NJ
- Developed a web site for processor reassignment for Merrill Lynch's main workflow application. (VB.Net, SOAP/XML, VBScript, DHTML). Interface consolidated two mainframe menu selections, while adopting techniques such as VCR style navigation buttons and pop in calender controls, which significantly improved usability. Successfully implemented strategies to dynamically load dependent listboxes, and update data without refreshing the entire page, which both enhanced performance, and preserved the user's data entry effort in the event of a web server or mainframe failure.
- Developed a multi column select control for the web. (VB.Net, VBScript, DHTML). A Developer configures the control server side by setting properties, and passing it a DataTable object. A DHTML behavior (.htc) provides selection and scrolling capabilities on the client side.
9/99 - 2/02 CONSULTANT, Merrill Lynch, Private Client Bookeeping Systems Somerset, NJ, Hopewell, NJ
- Developed Problem Log Tracking (PLTS2K) system for the Private Client Bookeeping Systems group. (Visual Basic 6.0, ADO, Access 97) Modeled system using ER Pro.
- Ported PLTS2K system to DB2 back end database running on mainframe. Developed automated system upgrade procedure, which avoided multiple installations on client workstations. Successfully deployed and administered PLTS2K on over 120 workstations. (Visual Basic 6.0, ADO, Shadow Direct ODBC driver, DB2)
- Developed the PCBS Recon Utility, a table driven, configurable tool which enables reconcilation between tables of identical structure, which reside in different DB2 regions. MS Access 97 is used to select tables and fields, and to report on the outcome. (Visual Basic 6.0, ADO, Shadow Direct ODBC driver, DB2, Access 97)
- Modified ML Test Manager, a scripting/testing application, developed by Software House International to support the ML Direct online trading initiative, to support PCBS User Acceptance Testing (ASP, T-SQL stored procedures, ADO, Access 97, CDONTS)
- Remodeled SQL Server 7.0 backend to better support trading desk activity, and enhance adminstrative control and tracking.
- Modified Access Admin Console to expose new tables and fields, and enhance scripting productivity.
- Developed new, and modified existing Active Server Pages to expose new tables, fields and functionality.
- Integrated ML Test Manager with the PLTS2K Problem Log Tracking system, to take advantage of the strengths of each application.
- Developed the UAT Recon Data Mart. Programs aided the UAT Control team in administering a complex mirror approach to tracking the real positions created through UAT scripts, while hedging these positions to avoid risk, and enabling validation of the new PCBS system against the old AP system. System won an award for Excellence from the Financial Services and Operating Systems Group. (Visual Basic 6.0, ADO, Shadow Direct ODBC driver, DB2, T-SQL Stored Procedures, SQL Server 7.0)
- Developed UATLoad, the load routine for the UAT Recon Data Mart Program runs nightly against production DB2 tables, and inserts data into SQL Server 7.0 tables, after cleansing and modification.
- Developed UAT Recon, which enables automated reconciliation of activities, positions and balances.
- Developed the Experior Scripting & Problem Logging System. (Visual Basic 6.0, Active Server Pages, ADO, T-SQL stored procedures) System consolidated the ML Test Manager scripting database and PLTS2K problem log tracking system under 1 backend database, and 2 front end applications. This consolidation avoided the administrative and processing overhead involved with maintaining separate scripting & problem logging applications while achieving significant gains in usability, and maintainability.
