CleverMinds provides networking services for companies in the Boston area. Network security and wireless networking are two areas of specialization. Listed below are highlights of some recent projects.

 

 

AOL/TimeWarner Cambridge, MA

 

·         Developed and implemented IT strategy for division of AOL. Implemented systems and network infrastructure under budget.

·         Managed network and system security.

·         Support various technologies including Microsoft 2000 and NT servers, MS Exchange server, VPN, Norton Anti-virus Corporate Edition, Veritas Backup Exec, IIS, DSL, T1, HP Jet Direct print servers, Active Directory, network security, NAT, and DHCP.

·         Provide 3rd level technical support for all mission critical systems at various AOL/TimeWarner offices in the Boston area.

·         Design and implement technology centers for the MLK After-School Programs. The goals of these programs are to help ‘bridge the digital divide’.

·         Manage network and system security.

·         Perform Internet administration including web site production, email administration, and firewall configuration.

·         Support various technologies including Windows 2000 server/clients, IIS, VPN, DHCP, Active Directory, Remote Installation Server (RIS), and broadband Internet connectivity.

·         Implement firewall and IPSEC VPN server.

·         Redesigned network to improve network security. Implemented cisco router, VPN, DHCP, NAT. Eliminated SMTP open mail relay, upgraded DNS servers, resolved intermittent hardware issues and resolved intermittent HP Jet Direct problems.

·         Consolidated multiple NT domains. Eliminated all errors from Event Viewer system and application logs. Established Trusts. Implemented Veritas Backup Exec. Implemented VPN.

·         Performed system administration duties on HP-UX, SUN Solaris, IBM AIX, FreeBSD, NT, W2K, and Linux servers. Reviewed logs, supported Apache and mail servers, updated operating system patches, user administration, and provided 7x24x365 technical support.

·         Successfully prepared systems and networks for ISO 9002 certification. Automated and standardized system backups and other mission critical services.

 

 

Wireless Public Networks 2001 - 2002

 

·         Design and implement public wireless networks at inner-city housing developments and in low-income neighborhoods. These networks allow for low-cost or no-cost broadband Internet connectivity. We are active in the following implementations.

·         Standardized procedures for managing Novell and NT servers that drastically improved network performance for 350-node network.

·         Automated the installation process of workstations for our customer outsourcing business, which accounted for a 200% reduction in implementation time.
