Consultant – .NET Solution Architect
My client, The Cleveland Clinic., contracted me to design and create a message transport system which would consume a web service provided through Epic’s “MyChart” web application. The message transport system involves a Windows service, web application, and Windows application. The system has a SQL Server back end involving multiple databases. Coding utilized C# through Visual Studio 2005. The databases required multiple tables and stored procedures to support a common SQL component.
My contract ended was extended to allow for augmentations to functionality and scope.

My client, Xerox Global Services, contracted me to create a high level .NET design. This design represented a re-engineering of a legacy system which currently serves their clientele. The design was a services oriented architecture and a composite solution. It included Web Services, Web Applications, .NET Remoting and Windows Services. Third party components suggested included iWay Adapter Manager, iWay PrintManager and iWay Prime. The databases involved in this 3tier solution were to be SQL Server as well as Oracle.

My client, Ohio Savings Bank, contracted me to augment their staff for an on going .NET conversion project of their Gemstone mortgage processing web application. This contract served to be an introduction to Oracle and Toad. The product was a mix between legacy ASP and ASP.NET. Java Script and XML were used extensively along with .NET Remoting. Most of the database work was assigned to the database technology group.

Atlas requested my presence for an extended time in Evansville, IN. For the six months I worked on numerous projects. All of these projects were .NET based; some were written in VB.net in conjunction with VBA. Some of these applications supported the product I produced for this client prior to this engagement. Others were proof of concept designs and prototypes. Finally, others were converting existing COM components to .NET Dynamic Linked Libraries. My duties also included mentoring their staff on .NET technologies, improving SQL performance and researching 3rd party geographical mapping products for inclusion into their composite business solution.

Atlas World Group, the parent company of Atlas Van Lines brought me on board to design and develop a financial data transfer process. The data source was a mainframe computer. The destination was Microsoft Great Plaines accounting software. The process involved a Windows Service, Web Service, Windows application, XML, and XSLT. This was an intranet solution which will act as a data bridge during the process of reducing reliance on their mainframe.

I worked on a team which was responsible for the development of over 1 million company reports which spanned 4 divisions and were delivered via email to every level of employee within the company. We as a team also were responsible for the development and maintenance of the systems and processes which produced the reports. Technologies employed were SQL Server 7 and Visual Basic 6.

• Lead a multi-dimensional team in an effort to improve operations efficiency.
• Implemented a project management/planning system which resulted in easier project management for my team. (based upon Microsoft Project using a shared site to host project files)
PNC Bank, Charlotte, NC 05-98 – 12-98
Consultant – Systems Analyst
PNC Bank, performed credit card processing for Sears, AAA, and PNC Bank. The bank had a customer service center in Lafayette, IN. As Senior Consultant with PNC, duties included designing, developing and implementing 15 to 20 small banking applications using Visual Basic 6. These Applications used embedded SQL Scripts which called Microsoft Access databases. I also mentored PNC employees.

• Designed and implemented an embedded communication system, which was developed in C, C++ and Assembler. This communication system was used to control embedded system variables of a power conditioning product (USRC) under development.
• Designed and developed communication system protocols using C and C++.
• Designed and implemented power transformer design program under MS-Windows NT platform using Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft Access.
• Used Visual Basic 6 to interface with the LabView electrical component diagnostic package to retrieve data and store it in an acceptable format for PowerPoint presentations.
