Defined Enterprise-wide UP Adoption Strategy and Roadmap for continual improvement of 2000+ global IT organization to establish CMMI-3 level maturity. Lead Enterprise Process Framework integration efforts encompassing SAS-70 audit compliance, Application Lifecycle Management, Portfolio Governance alignment, ITIL and COBIT best practices from a base of RUP, Open/UP and Scrum. Served as Coach/Mentor for Information Architecture (IA) intensive Web Development and Corporate Actions processing projects as part of adoption governance feedback. Head coach for the package evaluation project impacting Fund Accounting operations responsible for $1.2T AUM. Coach/mentor to largest programs within $30M portfolio, including $12M Investment Management System platform based on Charles River COTS, and Market & Reference Data systems feeding Trading and Accounting Systems. Advised on PMO Governance standards, Agile-oriented RUP instantiation, including process alignment with Business Architecture initiatives. Developed the US Trust Toolset strategy to support governance metrics initiative, workflow automation, and cross-enterprise PMO alignment. Advised Charles Schwab PMO on governance enablement through application of Rationals Unified Change Management framework for global development programs.
Nationwide Insurance - Mentor/Coach within Claims Solutions Division. Delivered knowledge transfer within Project Management, Architecture, Analysis & Design and Requirements disciplines based on principles of Agile-oriented instantiation of the Rational Unified Process. Provided advice and guidance for Nationwide Insurance enterprise methodology standards.
NEC Solutions America - Senior Methodology Advisor for NEC Solutions. Responsible for instantiation of Rational Unified Process in global setting, with development sites including India, China, Tokyo and San Jose, California. Provided strategic guidance on offshore sub-contractor management and process instrumentation. Consulted on applying Rational Softwares Unified Change Management process model and technology infrastructure to facilitate workflow automation and governance for 500+ member, globally distributed program.
NEC Global Banking System - Senior Architectural Advisor for the $160M NEC Global Banking System project. Responsible for architectural advice and guidance to enhance core banking package robustness to be delivered to over 11 banks, and positioned for global markets. This strategic initiative is part of the Anti-Mainframe alliance between NEC, Oracle, BEA and HP, focused on the fourth "big-bang" evolution of the mission-critical Japanese banking system from Mainframe based technology towards an OPEN platform. Technology environment included revolutionary MDA/MDD platform based on Rational Rose, C++, Oracle, HPUX, BEA Tuxedo, BEA WebLogic.
United States Department of Defense - DIMHRS - Senior Consultant for the $2.5B Defense Integrated Military Human Resource System (DIMHRS) program. Delivered Mentoring and Facilitation services related to business process modeling for business process reengineering of unprecedented scope, including large-scale systems from the Financial, Personnel and Operations Support systems within each of the 4 services. Provided advice and guidance on the application of architecture-centric and iterative development practices at a time when commercial best-practices were not applied within the DOD. Innovated approaches to COTS based Software Engineering that later would be incorporated into EPIC through collaboration with the SEI. Introduced RUP and commercial best-practices to the DOD as a result of Clinger-Cohen, and integrated these within the DOD 5000 process framework.
Rational Software Corporation - Senior Consultant for the Silicon Valley District. Major account assignments including the following: Siemens Medical Systems - architectural assessment for distributed real-time control system for radiation therapy; 3Com - Rational Unified Process methodology and component-based development mentoring; National Semiconductor - requirements engineering and business process modeling; Network Associates - project manager for enterprise change management deployment. Instructed courses for Rational University, including OOAD/UML, Introduction to Rational Rose, Requirements Management w/Use Cases and the Rational Unified Process.
Province of British Columbia - Chief System Architect for $1.2M Product Movement Data Collection System for the Government of British Columbia - Liquor Distribution Branch. System was responsible for province-wide data collection, validation and posting of $1.5B worth of product movement transactions to the provinces general ledger. Project scope included re-engineering of IBM PL/1 legacy system to address Year 2000 compliance. Rational Rose/UML utilized to support iterative and incremental OO development methodology. System implemented in Borland Delphi (Object Pascal) and Oracle in an HPUX environment.
