Consultant Work History:

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance April 2007 � 
                      Senior Business Analyst involved in requirements gathering, creating 
                       functional specifications, including Use Cases,  for redesign of a Anti-
                       Money  Laundering Continuing Education automated  system required 
                       by Patriot Act Law. Role consisted of dealing with outside vendors,  
                      interviewing internal users, researching improvement possibilities, acting as 
                       a  liaison between business and  technical staff  while  
                       preparing for a legally mandated annual  recertification process. Once new  
                       direction passed  committee review, position consisted of coordinating 
                       changes with technical staff, monitoring testing results via Test Director 
                       tool and coordinating  installation of changes. 
                          

United Health Group  July  2006  -  April 2007
                      SeniorTech/ Project Leader supporting large health insurance  
                      reporting system. Role involves researching requirements, creating 
                      technical specifications, modifying current processes and creating new  
                      procedures  Tools used include Test Director,  FOCUS 7.1,
                      FOCUS/HLI, SAS 8.0, COBOL, IMS, DB2 8.0 , QMF and FTP to UNIX.

Travelers Insurance Corporation Oct  2004 �  June 2006
                        Business Analyst/Tech Project Leader on corporate merger and 
                        optimization  of Travelers and St Paul Commercial Lines Actuarial 
                        process. Project responsibilities included  interviewing users
                        and creating Use Cases for study by committee, creating
                        business requirements and specification documents. Prepared estimates 
                        accurate for design and development as input to business scheduling for 
                        year. Coordination with the QA area for system testing phase.
                        Software involved was FOCUS, SAS, COBOL and DB2.
                        Also involved with creating and testing  prototype WEBFOCUS                      
                        applications. 
   
 Liberty Mutual Insurance (Personal Lines)  Sept 2003  - Sep 2004
                        Business Analyst/technical  programmer on a  payroll deduction project.                    
                  Involved analysis and preliminary business specification creation. Develop  
                  and implement test plans and scripts. Identify system defects and oversee 
                  successful coding fixes.  Triage issues detected in user acceptance testing.
                        Software used included; DB2 (7.0),  Assembler, COBOL/SQL,  JL Walker 
                        DB2  interface  and Rules Processing, DB2 Stored Proc,  COBOL/IMS, 
                        PLI/IMS,  SAS  8.0 Series, ZOS procs,    
                         Microfocus COBOL used to prototype procedures.                     
 
United Health Group  Feb. 2003  - Aug. 2003
                         Technical programmer on a major modification to a complex claims 
                         processing  System. Involved analysis, creating program specifications,  
                         getting user  acceptance and programming utilizing:  FOCUS,  
                         VSAM, DB2, Endevor and multi-layered COBOL/370 programs. Did 
                         system analysis for COGNOS application.
                         
CIGNA Insurance March 2002 � January 2003
                         Programmer for a Health Care Warehouse System. 
                         Responsibilities include originating and modifying COBOL/DB2 CICS 
                         programs via ENDEVOR as well as creation and support for JCL and 
                         PROCS as well as  DB2 BMC utilities. Intensive production support for 
                         associated JCL , CA7, data issues and programming abends required.
                         FOCUS used for daily balancing activities of Data Warehouse schema. 

United Health Group  Sept. 2001 - Feb 2002
                         Business Analyst/Project leader/Technical Lead on a complete rewrite 
                         of the 1099 tax  creation system process. Front end Business Analysis and  
                         user acceptance required before  programming could begin. Data 
                         Modeling use to clarify complex processes used. Involved 
                         directing   employees and consultants with strict timelines for completion.
                   Coordinate testing  with partners across various platforms. Work with 
                   offshore development team to insure quality code is delivered in a timely 
                   manner. Assure availability of the testing environments for use by 
                    business partners.
                         Project completed successfully, early and under budget.

                        Programming Support for complex Claims Automation System using 
                        COBOL 370, DB2, CANDLE, IMS, VSAM, REVOLVE, Main Frame 
                        Express, EZTRIEVE PLUS and REXX. Involved locating problems and 
                        coding/testing responsibilities.
                        Did performance tuning of long running DB2 applications.
              
CSC/Vantage Insurance Software  Nov 1999 - Dec 2000
                       Tech/Project Leader on a Major conversion project using COBOL 390, 
                       DB2, XPEDITER, CICS, MQ Series, VANTAGE 15, EDI and FILEAID 
                       to create a DB2  based system from a legacy VSAM, Universal Life 
                       system accessible via  Internet for E-COMMERCE.  Project involved 
                       parallel loading of DB2 tables from Legacy files, running  testing 
                       while implementing processing  changes for numerous remote clients. Also 
                       involved periodic maintenance  programming/testing as per requests of
                       clients. 

Yale University  May  1996 - Oct 1999 
                        Business Analyst/ Programmer on a conversion of legacy HR 
                        system to  UNIX  ORACLE  FINANCIALS package utilizing FOCUS,               
                       COBOL II, VM, DOS/VSE, ICCF, FTP, PL/SQL, BRIO, ORACLE Rpts.
                  Responsible for analyzing current HR system, developing              
                  conceptual design of system conversion. Estimating magnitude of 
                  proposed  work and business requirement estimate. Develop scope and 
                  approach documents and system specifications based on business 
                  requirement.                        
Support for Visual Basic 6.0 Payroll Application front end.
Responsible for programming, coordination and verifying the creation 
      of all W2 Federal and State tax forms and tapes utilizing FOCUS.

Programmer for process planning group in a large paper goods company using  FOCUS, PC/FOCUS, COBOL/2, IMS DB/DC and DB2 in an large scale IBM arena.
Assignment involved modification of current programs as well as creating new programs and processes to help planners forecast needs and current shortages from a SAP/ABAP environment.  Primarily involved in billing and forecasting applications. 
                               
Sikorsky Aircraft Jan 1991 - April 1994
		Programmer support for a materials accounting section of Finance 
                        Department using: COBOL, Micro Focus COBOL/2,  RAMIS II, 
                        DB2, JCL, SYNCSORT,  IMS/DB/DC, PL/I, AS400.
                        Main thrust was to balance payments/work accomplished for Progress
                        Payments accounting system, Federal Government mandated payment for 
                        work  accomplished per month.
