Present Global Technology Consultants, Inc. - Owner

Present. Principal consultant for Asia Online a Hong Kong company with operations in Australia, Singapore and US. Developed Office Automation and Intranet strategy. Planned rollout and adoption of Lotus Notes.

May/June 2000. Rewrite of a large Notes/Domino application for R5 of Lotus Notes. Designing the front end and implementation of various new functions and requirements. Client is a major international venture capital firm.

Jul-Aug 2000. Implementation of a significant client internal project using Domino to manage a training and management development program. System is being built to leverage the intranet and improve delivery of training programs. System is designed to be used by upton 30,000 users world-wide. Client is major computer manufacturer.

March/April 2000. Consulting on user interface design to build a Domino application to implement methods to manage new product development, from idea to delivered solutions. Building a Java Applet for viewing and navigating a heirarchy of information on a web site and connecting that to display different information in various frames.

Jan-June 2000. Building a web site for a medical services company. The site uses Notes/Domino for the back end. The system is being built using LotusScript, JavaScript and HTML. Client is a start up firm.

1997- 1999 Standard Bank of South Africa, Johannesburg

Managed for Lotus Consulting of South Africa, development of an Intranet application for Credit Management. Project integrated Notes/Domino with mainframes via MQSeries. Hands on development of significant parts of the application. Application had both browser and Notes clients as users. Designed the infrastructure, including server sizing, design and deployment. Managed the process of migrating the project to internal bank support. Dealt with wide area network performance issues.

1996- 1997 USF&G Insurance, Baltimore

Designed and prototyped claims management system to assist field claims representatives in handling their case load.

1997 USF&G Insurance, Baltmore

Investigated and reported on performance problems with a Notes based underwriting application. The application integrated Notes with Watermark for imaging and worked across a wide area network to support the underwriting process. Problem was due to the movement of large images across the network. Report included recommendations for changes to work process as well as implementation of background processes to improve perceived performance across the network.

1995-1997 Eastman Kodak Company

Designed solution and oversaw migration of users from Profs to LAN based mail systems including Notes, cc:Mail, and OpenMail. Developed software to manage directory synchronization across various platforms. Implemented Isocor based X.400 gateways connecting to SoftSwitch Central for mail routing. The project was owned by ISSC Corp.

1992-1995 ISSC Corp.

Designed connectivity and helped deploy mail gateways to integrate Profs based mail to Lotus Notes and cc:Mail. Developed Notes applications to support automated user registrations, track project status, etc. Application included writing Notes API programs to perform various tasks. Developed procedures for use by support personnel to manage environment.

1995 Rhone Poulenc Corp.

Developed procedures to allow ISSC to support Rhone Poulenc’s Microsoft Mail and Exchange based environment. Integrated mail and associated support systems and processes into an OpenView environment.

1994-1995 Department of Commerce.

Obtained research grant from DOC to analyze use of digital signatures in health care industry. Delivered code for Digital Signature Standard and analyzed scenarios to use these standards to exchange information between health care providers and payers.

1995 Gap International

Analyzed and built application to support Gap’s consulting practice allowing consultants to enter expenses using Nots and 1-2-3 and helping accounting department generate invoices. Project was a key enabler to continued growth in their consulting practice.

1995 Digital Equipment of Canada

Analyzed business requirements for an ISO 9000 documentation system for use by Digital of Canada. Customized a packaged Lotus Notes solutions to meet specific requirements. Deployed system and trained users in use of the system.
