Ginsters Ltd, Cornwall Complete design of control system and PLC program for a new machine to dispense filling mixture for pasties and similar products. Mitsubishi A series and MMI panel.

CE King Ltd, Chertsey, Surrey.

Complete design of the control system for a bespoke pharmaceutical dispensing and packaging line: CAD drawings of electrical circuits, cabinet layouts and wiring schedule. Pneumatic system design using SMC equipment. Specification of electrical and pneumatic equipment. Program for Allen Bradley SLC500 PLC and Panelview operator panel. EMC documentation. Commissioned machine into service

WT Integrated Systems, Elstead, Surrey. Part of an international group of companies providing a wide range of services to the Pharmaceutical industry.

Previous experience

Employed as a Controls design engineer by a major manufacturer of machinery for the tissue converting industry from 1989 until redundancy in July 1993.

Previously employed in special purpose machinery design and manufacture and sales.

Extensive experience of Control Engineering, covering power supply and distribution, AC and DC drives, stepper and servo motors, safety circuits, control circuits, instrumentation, sensing devices.

PLC experience:- Siemens S5 and S7; Texas (Simatic TI) 5TI, 525, 530 and 545; Allen Bradley PLC5, SLC500 and Panelview. Mitsubishi FX and A series; MAC50 and

FX DUE operator panels.

Interact, Fix 32 and In Touch Scada systems in conjunction with PLC.

Excellent knowledge of industrial pneumatics and hydraulics.

Autocad experienced.

Good knowledge of industrial lubricants and lubrication systems resulting from previous employment in the lubrication industry.

Design, development, programming and commissioning experience with:-

Paper industry machinery for manufacture of rolled and folded tissue products

Automatic assembly machinery for a wide range of applications.

Food and Pharmaceutical industry manufacturing and packaging machinery

Water industry- Sewage sludge drying plant - Allen Bradley PLC5/40

Part time lecturing in industrial pneumatics at Plymouth College of Further Education. Approximately 90 hours classroom time plus assessment.

Preparation and presentation of a one week training course in Mitsubishi PLC programming for line maintenance personnel in food industry.

Experience in EMC testing of large scale production line machinery, and preparation of Technical Construction Files for EMC approval by Competent body.

Previously worked as a Civil Aviation Licensed Aircraft engineer, qualified in electrical, instrument, engine and airframe systems. Qualified to certify passenger carrying aircraft as fit to fly. My training and work in military and civil aviation engineering have provided an excellent all round background in electrical and mechanical engineering.
