EXPERIENCE:

May 1999 – Present, Maxim Group

Working as a contract programmer for Maxim of Tulsa, for the client Tvguide, I have

written new on line and batch software for the HP3000 to support and enhance the

invoicing, turn on and turn off of services and all asspects of satellite television.

Using the tools Suprtool, Query, Omnidex, some Powerhouse (QTP, Quiz) and the

JCL and Cobol language for the HP3000 mid ranger computer have completed 32

large and small projects for Tvguide including the call center View and Vplus screens

which support the "C-band" (satellite) customer service and complaint department.

October 1997 – May 1999, CNC Global Consulting

Contracted by Northern Telecom to modify, maintain, and create new programs in an

HP3000 environment for its mostly automated batch systems with Unison Maestro

Job control software. Using PC,s and Reflections controlled the billing, contract ledger,

general ledger, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and federal invoicing.

Also used Microsoft products such as XL, Word95 and the rest of the Office95 software

for spread sheet loads from ASCII interface files. Maintained and changed on line View

and Vplus screens for Y2K dates using Formspec, Vform source and Vfast compiles and

am currently using Dbutil and Dbgeneral image database software for creation of history

data base for conversion to an updated Oracle HP9000 system.

In August 97 this system and all its users were bought by Williams Communications

Solutions, and I had to move the entire system to Tulsa Oklahoma. With just one system

person, went through all the Maestro code, Spoolmate code and job streams to delete parts

not required by the new company. Made sure new IP addresses were in place for online use,

sending reports, and files all over the country. Using Cognos had to recompile Quiz, QTP and

Quick screens. Had to make Y2k changes to Quiz and QTP programs in the Federal billing

system. Also use e-mail, internet, Microsoft Exchange, and most PC functions in conjunction,

with this tele-commute job.

October 1995 – October 1997, Technical Directions Inc

From May 96 to October 97 was contracted to BT Office Products to write interface programs

For current systems using COBOL 85 and all the HP tools mentioned below. Made many changes to Powerhouse applications using Quiz and QTP tools on the HP platform. Some

of the changes were enhancements and the rest were Y2K date changes. Also wrote

batch programs to convert Image Data base information to delimited files for the new

Oracle system being developed by another team.

From October 95 to May 96 was contracted on Southwest Airlines new reservation System in a Hewlett Packard 3000 series 995 environment for development of a new reservation system. With COBOL 85 as the main language, have created Client, Batch, JCL’s, and RPC programs. I have learned many of the aspects of the airline industry through the interaction involved with creating programs for this system. Using MPEXL and MPE/iX intrinsics, have created all aspects of online and batch processing along with the user tools such as HP CICS (Vplus), Query, Suprtool, Superdex, Qedit and other Robelle products. Also use Image Data Base Management tools to create Data Bases.

January 1993 - October 1995, Tom’s Foods Inc, Columbus Ga.

Worked at as a senior programmer analyst and project leader in an HP environment using the Hewlett Packard 3000 series 937 for development and the HP 987 for the actual

production of information. Using the MPEXL operating system, program, modify and create all aspects of online and batch processing from COBOL programming (74, 85) including Data Base creation and modification, Ksam files, Vplus, Query, Suprtool, and several Robelle products. Also design, schedule, and oversee manufacturing and programming projects to completion.

Write and create new JCL’s for job streams to run several batch jobs and to load circular files for batch processing through actual Vplus screens. The Job Command Language files also incorporate Robelle products for file and data base maintenance.

Mostly usings PC ‘s through Reflections and Windows to work on the HP systems, worked in a manufacturing environment, on the order entry system (on-line) and the sales and manufacturing systems.

I have extensive knowledge of Micrsoft’s Windows, Dos 5.0 - 6.2, and several of Microsoft’s tools including Word, Excel, Mail, and Windows for Work groups. Also done some PC repair and minor communications work (Wan, Lan).

Using GUPTA SQL for Windows and Watcom 4.0 data base, designed, scheduled, and wrote a centralized warehouse package with file interface to HP mainframe computer with Sybase and Unix compatibilty.

Employed as Senior Program analyst, wrote COBOL programs, re-designed and developed many business applications of our system, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchase Journal, Use Tax system and Payroll system.

Worked in an HP 949 mainframe environment using MPEXL command system. After converting from an MPE to MPEXL maintained and created Data Base files in both systems. All work was performed through a PC and interfaced by Reflections to the mainframe for all maintenance and program development. The entire network was linked, by Wan, to our plants nation wide using satellite link and Codex equipment located on site and at each plant, which requires communication, port monitoring, and support.

Have had extensive training programs while working for Birminham Steel including understanding and setup of Lans,Turbo C++, Advanced Windows, American Management Association’s (AMA) writing user documentation, and several report writer software classes.
