MIT University

Boston, MA

Senior SAP Consultant  July/02– Feb/05

Implemented a highly customized version of the SAP Travel Management system for the MIT using release 4.6C. They had an old web-based travel system that could not communicate with SAP. I was able to keep much of their web interface while running true SAP travel management in the background. This reduced user training and implementation costs. MIT has a complex set of public sector travel regulations mandated by the government. It also has unique requirements for tracking commitments and burden for government funded projects. Supported HR by designing interfaces, infotype exits, authorization profiles, and non-employee data for consultants working for the lab. Developed HR planning and reporting modules to track employee activities and monitor assigned equipment.

COMPUSA

Dallas, TX

Senior SAP Consultant   April/02– June/02

Implemented complex workflow processes based on the HR org. structure at COMPUSA. COMPUSA had a requirement to automate the purchasing approval process and SAP workflow was the ideal solution. Since workflow is totally dependent on the HR org. structure, I had to evaluate that structure and recommend enhancements. Duties included workflow design, configuration, testing, and user training.

Sacramento Municipal Utility District

Sacramento, CA

Senior SAP Consultant   Mar/02– Mar/02

Evaluated and redesigned workflow processes at this electric utility. Made recommendations regarding business process changes, workflow approvals, org. management, security, and ESS. They were having a number of problems with the way workflow had been implemented and wanted an outside expert. For instance, intended approvers were not always receiving workflow tasks. Their security scheme did not always allow intended agents to do their work. I developed a new workflow process that would detect problems (such as no authorized agent available) in the first step and notify the department responsible for fixing the problem. In many cases their HR org. management structures did not support their workflow requirements. I also showed them how they could revise and simplify their security roles.

Hughes Network Systems

Germantown, MD

Senior SAP Consultant   Oct/01– Mar/02

Configured, tested, and modified the CATS (Cross-Application Time Sheet) module and ESS for this satellite communications company. Work included IMG configuration, HTML and JavaScript modifications, custom programs, and user exits. I set up structural authorizations based on their HR PD org. structures. I also implemented role-based security.

Chicago, IL

Senior SAP Consultant   Feb/01– Oct/01

We paid ten million dollars per month in travel expenses through this release 4.6B system.

StorageTek Corp.

Denver, CO

This includes modifying and extending the Employee Self-Service (ESS) transactions delivered by SAP. This company had SAP in production for a couple of years but had not fully utilized its capabilities. Top management wanted everything web-enabled with approval processes in workflow. I also setup the authorization profiles using the profile generator. It was a global implementation.
