Over twenty years experience in application systems design for online real-time data base systems.

Ten years experience as a senior business systems analyst.  I have worked with all levels of corporate management to design and prototype complex business and government systems.

I have extensive knowledge of systems involving healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, financial applications, personnel/payroll, aerospace, and public utilities.

Education:


Received a Business Degree in Data Processing from El Camino College.
I have taken twelve IBM Education Center Classes over a span of five years.
I continue to take evening university classes.

Prior Projects/Systems:

•        Nov. 2003 – Feb. 2006 – Shaw Industries Inc.
Helped design and implement manufacturing based systems relating to distribution and customer service on both SERVER and MAINFRAME platforms.

SERVER ENVIRONMANT - DB2 Stored Procedures,Script, EDI processing, Crystal Reports, FTP.
MAINFRAME ENVIRONMENT- MVS,TSO/ISPF, Endevor, COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ Series. 

•        Mar. 2003 – Jun. 2003 – Amsouth Bank
Wrote custom programs and helped install a realtime funds transfer system  (Money Transfer System) between the bank and the Federal Reserve for domestic and international wire transfers.

Environment – AIX, RISC6000, Micro-Focus COBOL, FTP, SQL, Mainframe (MVS,TSO/ISPF, Endevor, COBOL, CICS, MTS). 

•	Feb. 2001 – Dec. 2002 – Knoxville Utilities Board
I wrote many of the modules necessary to successfully convert this mainframe based client to PeopleSoft AIX environment. I participated in the design and planning process and assisted in the training and management of outside contractors and consultants.

Environment – AIX, Oracle, PeopleSoft, VSE, CICS, COBOL, Micro-Focus COBOL, DB2,  SQL and PeopleSoft CIS (customer information system). 


•	Aug. 2000 – Jan. 2001 - Goody’s Corporation
Helped design and write many of the software interface modules for a new automated distribution center package (RETEK). The system spans five UNIX boxes and employs RFID (radio frequency) processing.

Environment – UNIX, Micro-Focus COBOL, Wang COBOL, Oracle, ICE,  EDITPLUS, and ACU-COBOL

•	March 1998 – July 2000 – Arvin International (OEM for U.S. car companies)
Y2K project – reviewed, changed, compiled, and tested over 1,500 programs.

I co-designed and wrote a product labeling system used for all major products. 

I assisted in the installation of a new accounts receivable system.

•	August 1997 – Feb 1998 – Kimberly-Clark (international transportation office)
I converted application systems from COBOL and PL/I to COBOL II.

•	March 1996 – March 1997 – Kaiser Permanente (nation’s largest HMO)
Designed and developed Kaiser’s retail pharmaceutical system.  This allowed all two million members to receive prescriptions at any online drug store.

I assisted in the design and writing of software that issued plastic identification cards to all Southern California Kaiser members.

Environment – MSV/XA (via LAN), CICS, COBOL II, COBOL, DL/I, VSAM, and SQL

•	April 1994 – January 1996 – MCRB Service Bureau (infomercial company)
Designed and developed all systems required to support American Standard’s national client profile system, this represented MCRB’s third largest source of revenue.

Environment – MVS/XA, CICS, COBOL II, COBOL, PL/I, DL/I, VSAM, Xerox Laser Printing.

•	August 1992 – April 1993 – Transamerica Insurance Group (commercial insurance)
Designed and wrote a nationwide LAN based system that tracks every insurance form issued by any state.  A LAN to mainframe update interface was included.

•	April 1991 to July 1992 – Rusco Services (custom insurance systems)
I worked as the project leader to develop an insurance rating and policy generation center.
