OBJECTIVE
Contract position utilizing my experience as a
WebSphere administrator and engineer.
· Over 8 years experience installing, configuring and supporting IBM WebSphere Application Server on multiple platforms (AIX, Solaris, HP/UX, Windows and Linux). Experience with WebSphere Version 3, 4, 5 and 6.
· IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator -- WebSphere App Server V5.0
· IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6.0
· Install and configure WebSphere Portal Server, WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus
· Install and configure web servers (IBM HTTP Server, Apache and IIS)
· Install and configure IBM EdgeServer including custom advisor development
· Deploy J2EE applications and assist with problem resolution. Familiar with Hyperion, Versata and Crystal.
· Advise on infrastructure design issues such as load balancing, fail over and session management
· Develop scripts to automate WebSphere administration tasks
· Perform tuning and capacity planning tasks to maintain optimal system performance and availability
· Develop Java programs, servlets and JSP to manage and monitor infrastructure resources

· April, 2007- present: WebSphere Contractor for Department of Education/Federal Student Aid
o Install and configure WebSphere Application Server V6 on HP/UX
o Develop Jython scripts to create and configure WebSphere clustered resources and automate application deployments
o Provide application production support using Wily Introscope
o Install and configure WebFocus
o Develop java web services programs to refresh Akamai web content
o Develop Bladelogic jobs to automate application updates

· September, 2006 –March, 2007: WebSphere Contractor for IRS
o Provided WebSphere Application Server production support
o Developed JACL scripts to automate application deployment and resource configuration tasks
o Assisted with the installation of WebSphere Portal Server V6
· June, 2006 – March, 2007: WebSphere Contractor for Portland General Electric
o Designed a WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus (WESB) test and production environment. Also developed installation procedures for the WESB implementation on AIX.
o Installed WebSphere Process Server V6 on AIX in development, test and production environments including clustered messaging engines.
o Provided remote administration and technical support to assist with the resolution of application and mediation configuration and deployment issues.
· June, 2006 – September, 2006: WebSphere Contractor for multiple IBM clients
o Performed a review of a WebSphere V6 on AIX installation for a state government organization and advised on ways to improve performance and reliability. Also assisted with resolving production issues.
o Assisted a petroleum company with resolution of problems with a WebSphere on Windows production application. The assistance included reviewing thread dumps and application code. Also mentored client personnel on WebSphere administration and monitoring.
