At this point the data is ready for the next stage of processing. · The following stage of processing entails loading the SQL text files and then mapping the data to the Oracle holding tables.

The data communication was handled by utilizing a Virtual Private Network set up with GE Information Services (GEIS). The data transmission and map execution environment was handled by Mercator’s Commerce Broker. After determining mapping strategy, set out to create the maps as follows: · Created a pruned type trees to define and describe the incoming data. Next, mapping the inbound data to an intermediate file. A header was mapped along with its corresponding line items. Inserted business related rules as needed. A report file was created to notify (by Email) the users of any errors at this stage of processing. At this point the data is ready for the next stage of processing. · The following stage of processing entails reading the intermediate files and then mapping the data to the Oracle staging tables. · Create the type tree to describe the data in the intermediate file. Map the data into the database (Headers and Lines) based on business specific rules. Create type trees based on the tables using the Mercator database interface designer.
