·          Designed several TEAMTRACK workflows for human resource processes involving new employees, existing employee requests, and employees leaving NASA.  Analyzed existing documentation and provided overall technical support and consultation for all areas involving Installation, Administration, and Development.

·          Implemented the above "Check In / Move Change / Check Out" system using TEAMTRACK, built around a "Request / Approval / Fulfillment" process that interacts with several other (linked) workflows.  Wrote many TEAMSCRIPT programs to synchronize data across workflows, and created interfaces to legacy systems.

·          Currently supporting the above systems via a post-implementation service contract.

 

US Office of Personnel Management  -  Washington, DC                         May 04  to the Present

·          Currently building TEAMTRACK systems for tracking personnel and security investigations / adjudications.

·          Designed and implemented multiple web based TEAMTRACK workflow solutions for tracking, managing, and reporting on configuration management, system defects, software development and enhancements, as well as solutions for handling risks, issues, and action items.

-       Each system tracks customer requests, captures information related to requests, assigns ownership / responsibility to selected staff members, enforces process, handles user permissions, generates automatic email notifications and escalations, and provides a wide range of management tools and reports.

·          Designed and implemented TEAMTRACK systems for the US Auditor's Office - for the IT Dept's tracking of Report Conversions - for the Human Resource Dept's delegated hiring - for the Retirement Systems Division - and the investigation division's tracking of electronic fingerprint machines - as well as change mgmt. systems.

·          Wrote TEAMSCRIPT code; Implemented TEAMTRACK Development Standards; Trained other workflow administrators; Prepared PowerPoint Presentations, and wrote user documentation.

·          Developed and Maintained for the US Government's Security Clearance System (PIPS) using Adabas / NATURAL, TSO and JCL, including components for managing digital images related to investigations.

·          Implemented a TEAMTRACK workflow system with TEAMSCRIPT modules for processing pharmaceutical rebate requests and calculations, and for sending out reminder notifications based on user controlled dates.

 

Eaton Cutler-Hammer  -  Pittsburgh, PA                                                                Jan 94  to  Apr 04

·          Designed a workflow system for managing all of the business processes for the entire claims department.

·          Designed, coded, installed, and supported a system for processing rebates based on customer specific pricing agreements with two-way EDI interfaces, and systems for processing customer deductions and tracking root causes.  Used Adabas, NATURAL, Construct, Predict, and N2O, running on an IBM MVS mainframe.

·          Converted the returns and rebate systems to object oriented (NATURAL) modules for communicating with Java programs that feed a web browser based customer interface.  Used MQ Series as a middleware broker.

·          Maintained the systems for transferring financial data (A/R and G/L) to and from Oracle and modified over 300 existing NATURAL online and batch programs for "globalization" (multiple entities, currencies and languages).

 

Los Angeles Times Newspaper  -  Los Angeles, CA                                            Jan 88  to  Jan 94

·          Over a six year period, participated in, and completed, an entire project lifecycle for a section, and all of its phases, of a 20 million dollar Integrated Computer Information Systems project for the Circulation Department.  Coded over 200 online and batch NATURAL programs.

·          Performed activities such as conducting the initial user interviews, preparing requirements documents, writing the internal / external design documents, preparing program specification documents, and designing the database.

 

Xerox Corporation  -  Torrance, CA                                                                      Sep 87  to  Dec 87

·          Coded, maintained, and debugged NATURAL online and batch programs that supported the Xerox Customer Service System.  This system handled a variety of customer requests for product and service related activities.  Also acted as an interface between the system users and IT Management.

 

Perrier / Arrowhead Water Division  -  Monterey Park, CA                                 Apr 87  to  Aug 87

·          Participated in a pilot project to prototype an ADABAS / NATURAL system for the Order Entry, the Customer Service, and the Credit departments.  Reviewed current business operations, interviewed user staff members, prepared documentation, designed and coded a prototype system.

 

Nissan / Datsun  -  Carson, CA                                                                                 Apr 85  to  Apr 87

·          Maintained and enhanced the Installment Loans Online (CICS) system and added interfaces to various Adabas / NATURAL processes.  The basic CICS system was originally obtained from UCC of Dallas and was extensively modified to meet Nissans requirements. 

·          Wrote, maintained, and enhanced several CICS and batch COBOL programs along with Online and Batch NATURAL programs.

 

Ticor Mortgage Insurance  -  Los Angeles, CA                                                    Sep 84  to  Apr 85

·          Enhanced the existing Online database applications and their corresponding Batch support programs and JCL, and made various program efficiency modifications to the screens and reports used by the Claims department.

·          Wrote specifications for new screens and reports that were coded in NATURAL, and coded new programs, including COBOL batch report programs.

 

Nissan / Datsun  -  Carson, CA                                                                               Sep 83  to  Sep 84

·          Led a staff of 5 programmers to develop a Cash Reconciliation and Reporting System using Adabas and NATURAL.  Primarily responsible for the design of the system and the database files and fields. 

·          Wrote program specifications and coded programs in NATURAL, COBOL and CICS.

 

RCA / TRW Space Defense Division  -  Redondo Beach, CA                            Jun 82  to  Sep 83

·          Worked on a project to develop an Automated Seismic Monitoring System.  Installed ADABAS under VM / CMS, monitored and tuned database performance.  Designed and implemented the database file structures, and performed the duties of DBA for the initial stages of the project.  Wrote prototype NATURAL code.

·          Worked on a project to develop a Software Analyzer to accept multiple COBOL batch programs and their associated JCL as inputs, and create a database containing file and field uses and relationships, cross reference information, and data flow.

 

Republic Bank  -  Dallas, TX                                                                                  Sep 81  to  Jun 82

·          Converted an IBM DOS / VS environment for a local Dallas bank (which was bought by Republic Bank) over to an OS / VS environment on Republic Bank's main computer. 

·          Acted as the Systems Programmer for the acquired bank during the conversion, and re-wrote assembler programs for posting transactions.

·          Installed the DOS / RJE Workstation package, modified the existing Check Processing System, and coded interface programs.

 

IBM Corporation  -  Pittsburgh, PA                                                                        Jun 79  to  Aug 81

·          Designed and configured hardware and software systems, performed capacity planning, installed operating systems and software, performed problem analysis, and Customer training. 

·          Provided software technical support, installation, and education, for several IBM Customer accounts. 

·          Worked mainly with DOS/VSE and 8100/DPPX products. 

·          Also responsible for conducting various product presentations and demonstrations.
