WEB ARCHITECT

Web Based Administration Suite of Call Centers “Senior Web Architect”.

Project Manager and Web Architect for a company with a client base ranging from Compaq Computer to Intuit Software.

Authored functional specifications and defined the Architecture and foundation for a web based administration tool for their product and processes.

Defined the Internet Based Architecture back-end and front-end.

Developed database schematics using Erwin and communicated my proposals to the VP of RandD and Chief Operating Officer. As an initial agreement was reached, I set focus on the actual deployment of the project. This deployment included the full scale use of: HTML, Active Server Pages, Cascaded Style Sheets, JavaScript, C++ Based Business Objects “ATL 3.0” I have written, database stored procedures I have written

Implementation: Used AutoCAD, Visio Enterprise, Erwin, and SQL Server 7.0 to model the schema of the database required for the web based administrative tools. Used InterDev 6.0, Active Server Pages, Remote Scripting, HTML, and COM to design and implement the solution. Proposed the use of Message Queue to centralize management of messaging in the architecture.

Use of C++ based ATL “Active Template Library” was one of the most important aspects of this project. I developed a middle tier that is backed by a Windows NT 4.0 Service. Completely designed, engineered by me, this service has proven effective. The intention was to cater one copy of a multi dimensional cube of data to multiple clients.

The proposal I have made, submitted, and got approval for, was my engineering innovation. Developing this Active Template Library based Windows NT Service actually improved data access to multiple thin clients

Environment: NT4.0, COM, SQL Server 7, Back Office, Transaction Server, ASP, DHTML, Style Sheets, JavaScript, VB Script, Visual Basic, ActiveX controls construction, Product Data Management and Hierarchy Design.

  • Created Database schematics and preliminary model which I implemented after proof of concept.
  • Designed, implemented, coded, and tested the Web-Based solution integrating the corporate SAP and Manufacturing System with my new database-driven solution using JavaScript, DHTML, Active Server Pages, Visual Basic, Oracle Databases.

The Project: Required was a worldwide web based solution that’s y2k compliant to replace current crt-based processes for software ordering and product acquisitions made by the USA office in Maynard MA and the Ireland’s Office. I have implemented the solution as a Web-Based client server solution in Visual Basic COM Transaction oriented components and Oracle in the back-end and HTML, JavaScript as a client. I also wrote Data migration utilities in Visual C++ and MFC to transform existing data from different formats into the Oracle based solution.

Implementation:

·         Database “SQL Server”: Used AutoCAD to created database schematics and translated them into SQL Scripts.  The SQL Scripts later were executed by me into the Oracle 7.0 database schema. Stratus has replaced Oracle 7.0 with Oracle 8.0. I had to convert my database to Oracle 8.0.

·         Web Architecture: Configured a development web server which was later to be used for the Alpha, Beta release. The configuration included the installation of Ms BackOffice 4.0. Note that all the tools I have developed for this project are Microsoft Transaction Server based.

·         HTML, ASP, JavaScript:  Used Visual interDev 6.0 to setup the project. Designed All GUI elements and graphic. Used HTML, JavaScript, and DHTML for client site interfaces and Active Server Pages for server side processing. The server process comprised of JavaScript and ActiveX components (COM)

·         Employee Training For Stratus’s Personnel: During my stay I have given lectures in HTML Programming and Visual Basic, IIS, Transaction Server, and Active Server Pages to a number of Stratus Employees. My goal was to give as much exposure to whomever needed knowledge of web technologies.
