Veritas/Symantec (Contract): Infrastructure development and maintenance.  Jun 2005 to Mar 2006. 

SAN test bed configuration, resource allocation, cabling, zoning, and troubleshooting.  Wrote cLab TestLink Admin Guide.  Initiated, wrote, and implemented cLab SAN LDF Cabling Guide.  Created exceptional Visio schematic templates for SAN test-bed configurations.  Maintained detailed resource spreadsheets in support of automated PHP/XML-based resource management and display facility. 

VMWARE (Contract): Kernel level SCSI I/O Test Development in C and Perl.  Jan 2005 to May 2005. 

Developed SCSI I/O test utilities to exercise memory usage, HBA limitations, PAE memory access, memory alignment, physical to virtual memory mapping, and limitations on scatter-gather elements, and asynchronous I/O in the vmkernel, and for SCSI Generic I/O in Linux Virtual Machines.  Tested and verified data integrity for SCSI I/O.  Developed Linux storage I/O tests in C, driving scripts in Perl.

Prototyped and tested SNIA HBA API with multiple vendor’s HBAs.  Joint Windows & UNIX Development to enhance FC In-Band Discovery module for Java-based SANavigator FC SAN display & management product.  Provided technical leadership to QA team qualifying vendor’s HBAs with SNIA HBA API.

HEWLETT-PACKARD (Contract): SCSI I/O Driver Project Team, Apr 1999 to Apr 2000. 

Researched and documented group processes, and facilitated group productivity and resource coordination during team development phase for SCSI I/O driver maintenance team.  Performed and coordinated activities for the discovery, planning, development, integration, testing and verification, documentation, packaging, and release of SCSI I/O subsystem patches.

SENTRYL SOFTWARE (Contract), SCSI SW Design, Development, Engineer, Jun. 1998-Dec 1998. 

Enhanced STARvault SW product to emulate SCSI tape drive behavior, to support IBM’s ADSM archival software on UNIX clients to allow AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris systems to backup to an MVS repository server.  Designed & coded ADSM config, QA & diagnostic test suite, and HP-UX product build & install.

LEGATO SYSTEMS: Product Manager, Device Support, Sep. 1997-Apr. 1998.

Planned, managed, documented, and coordinated qualification of external vendor’s tape libraries, for support with Legato’s Networker data storage SW products.  Managed storage vendor relationships and vendors’ qualification units with internal departments to stage, qualify, document, and leverage sales for multi-vendor storage device compatibility.  Delivered very successful Device Supplement with first fully hyperlinked SCSI Device & Networker Compatibility Guide, which leveraged sales of Legato’s Networker.
