Develop an application to validate data in successive stages of data warehouse development.  The application involves building a SQLServer2005 database containing Transact SQL commands and other descriptive data.  Stored procedures execute tabled SQL commands dynamically producing a results table with all validation requests, timestamps and validation output allowing the tracking/auditing/reporting of all data validation requests.  Also, using Kalido to define data warehouse objects, develop query definitions and Excel “shops”, as well as defining basic universe(s).   Finally, using Business Objects to customize generated universes while transferring knowledge and defining standards.     

 

3/05-12/05 UNC Chapel Hill – Consulting / Contract Programming

Enhance JAVA / XML / Oracle / IDMS Student Awards application. Design, code, and test modifications, which allow business units to track and maintain all student financial awards using web app spanning mainframe and Unix platforms. Enhancements are designed to eliminate need for manual monitoring of individual accounts and prevent financial over exposure of business units by applying university accounting standards to all student award processes. 

 

2004-PRESENT Cyntex, Inc – Independent Consulting / Contract Programming

Analyze business operations with a focus on system efficiencies and improvements.  Control oversight and planning of computing, web, application, and database environment for the company.  Provide direct technical and training support to users and maintain the internal technology infrastructure.  Consult and advise Directors regarding the adoption of technology as they develop and deploy their business initiatives. 

 

2002-2004 - Wake County Public School System – Contract Programming

System tuning and troubleshooting of COBOL, IDMS, ADS/O of mainframe student information system interfacing with NCWise Oracle database and UNIX / SQL applications.  Batch and on-line application analysis, design, development, implementation, and optimization of processes on UNIX and Mainframe platforms.  Manage staff and operational aspects of the legacy system.  Responsible for all data reporting requirements to state and federal governments.

 

2001-2002 - N C State University – SAS Programmer / Hardware and Network Technical Assistance

Develop SAS / EXCEL / VISUAL BASIC system to track and analyze statistics for the North Carolina Treatment Outcomes and Program Performance System (NC-TOPPS), for NC Division of Mental Health.  Construct physical and logical system of network servers, UPS, backup/recovery units and software, and control systems to upgrade current network structure.  Assist in development and troubleshooting of Windows NT systems running on desktop and server systems.

Member of Oracle Enterprise analysis/implementation team, using PL/SQL, JAVA, Oracle Forms, WEBDB, Developer and UNIX scripts to develop batch and on-line order entry processes, Oracle iStore, membership and A/R applications.  Full project life-cycle responsibility for UNIX vendor package used to control all aspects of On-Site training offerings. Coordinate with vendor, business units and operations for delivery of all needs, modifications and enhancements.
