PROFILE
Mr.
Simonton brings over 15 years of experience in distribution and manufacturing
as a consultant. He has worked a
wide variety of industries – including food processing, fresh food, third
party warehousing, consumer retailing, office furniture, aircraft manufacturing
and industrial products. Mr.
Simonton specializes in providing both process design/software selection
services and software implementation service. He is well versed in analyzing and
re-engineering distribution and manufacturing processes to reduce cost, increase
efficiency and position businesses for future growth. After software selection, armed with
knowledge of the business objectives, he can lead the software implementation
to success.
His
deep knowledge of JDE / Peoplesoft software allows him to quickly bring
solutions to many common functional problems in the Distribution, Warehousing
and Manufacturing modules. He is
one of only a few individuals with experience implementing Distribution,
Warehousing and Manufacturing in a single environment.

Since
1998, Mr. Simonton has been assisting companies in ERP software selection,
warehouse management software selection, operations process design, project
management, capital budget planning and software implementation. He specializes in process-based
approaches to both planning and implementation projects. His unique ability to provide services
during the software selection phase, and then lead the implementation phase has
directly resulted in lower cost, more effective solution implementations.

Consultant/Project Manager, 1995-1997
From
September 1995 – December 1998, Mr. Simonton participated in a diverse
set of engagements in several different capacities. He provided consultation on warehousing
and manufacturing operations for two leading golf product manufacturers, a
rocket manufacturer and one of the largest retailers in the country. He provided project management on
several custom software development projects, supporting distribution and
manufacturing operations.
Boeing Company, Inc.
1989 - 1995
Mr.
Simonton held three (3) different positions while at the Boeing Company. From 1991 – 1995, he was
responsible for supporting manufacturing and distribution executive managers. He
specialized in the development and use of computer simulations of complex
aircraft manufacturing facilities.
The results of these analyses were used to make multi-million dollar
decisions on plant capacity, equipment requirements and make vs. buy.

Organic Energy Bar Company
Management Consultant – Mr. Simonton provided consultation on
configuring and deploying DRP (Distribution Requirements Planning) for a
medium-sized distributor. The
client was experiencing frequent stock-outs due to a lack of reliable planning
tools. Planning staff was working
around the system tools due the lack of valid information. The results of the project effort
included valid, reliable planning information, improved order fulfillment
performance and improved vendor relations.
Multi-National Food Processing & Distribution Company
Project Manager – From July 2005 – present, he is leading
the effort to integrate system operations for Warehousing, Manufacturing Shop
Floor control and RF Integration into the corporate JDE environment after
acquisition. He also is providing
consultation on business process designs due to shifting production and
marketing strategies.
Regional Transit Authority
Management Consultant – From May – August 2005, he provided
consultation on best-practice usage of EnterpriseOne to support Purchasing and
Contract Management processes for a government agency involved in large
public-works construction projects.

Management Consultant – From July – August 2003, he provided consultation on the JDE OneWorld Xe and EnterpriseOne Warehousing, Distribution, Manufacturing and World co-existent functionality during a software selection project. He also provided consultation business process re-design to assure the business requirements were well defined prior to software selection.
Project Manager – From February 2004 – April 2005, he led
the effort to implement OneWorld XE Distribution, Warehousing and
Manufacturing, and DSI RF Integration software – in a co-existent
environment. His responsibilities
included project management, warehouse module configuration, consultation on
other modules, customization design, development team management and training
planning.

Management Consultant – From July – August 2003, he provided consultation on the Peoplesoft EnterpriseOne Warehousing, Distribution and Manufacturing functionality during a software selection project.

Management Consultant – From August – October 2002, he provided consultation on the EnterpriseOne Warehousing, Distribution and Manufacturing functionality during a software selection project. His responsibilities included matching software functionality to business requirements, evaluating software customization estimates and preparing a capital budget plan.
Warehousing/Inventory Functional Consultant – From late 2002 – April 2004, his responsibilities included Warehousing module configuration, and integration with Manufacturing module operation.
Fine Foods Manufacturer and Distributor –
Project Manager – In late 2002, he led the effort to develop a
capital budget plan and operations plan for implementation of RF integration
software/technology, and re-implementation of OneWorld Xe Warehouse Management. The plan included detailed cost/benefit
analysis, and a plan for leveraging the investment of another division, to
reduce overall project cost and time to implementation.
Project Director – From May – July 2004, he directed the
re-implementation of JDE OneWorld Xe Inventory, Warehousing and Manufacturing modules,
integrated with DSI RF tools. The
project moved the client from a paper-based non-real time system to a
paperless, real-time information environment.
Fine Foods Manufacturer and Distributor –
Project Manager/Consultant – From April – May 2002, he led the
effort to develop a process-based operations plan for re-implementing OneWorld
XE Inventory and Warehouse Management, incorporating the use of RF (radio
frequency) software and technology.
The plan included revised operating processes, JDE configuration changes
(Inventory, Sales Order Management, Warehousing, Manufacturing and Technical),
RF-based process designs and a cost/benefit analysis.
Project Manager/Consultant – From May – August 2002, he led the
effort to update the OneWorld XE Warehouse Management implementation, including
the use of RF (radio frequency) software and technology. His responsibilities included RF program
design and testing, JDE configuration updates and testing, end user training,
process documentation and budget management. The business achieved 100% shipping
volume on the 2nd day of live operation.
Project Manager/Consultant – From September - December 2003, he led the
effort to re-implement OneWorld XE Manufacturing, including the use of RF
(radio frequency) software and technology.
The effort also re-engineered Warehouse Processes which supported
Manufacturing. The engagement brought mobile data tools and improved software
tools to the manufacturing floor employees.
Large Port Authority –
Project Manager – From January 2001 - March 2002, he directed
the implementation of Provia Warehouse Management software in three (3) port
authority warehouse facilities. The
warehouse facilities were primarily involved in third-party warehousing of
goods imported from

Project Manager – From August 1998 – April 2000, he
directed the implementation of a warehouse management system/manufacturing
execution system in five facilities around the western US. His responsibilities included project
management, software customization tracking, equipment procurement, management
tool development, ERP system integration and user training.
Project Manager – From January – July 1998, he provided consultation on distribution and warehousing operations process design, software selection and capital budgeting.
Project Manager – From February – May 2001, he provided consultation on integrating systems between Gilroy Foods and an outside acquisition, both before and after the actual purchase. After the acquisition was completed, he led the software development, testing and go-live efforts to integrate manufacturing and distribution systems.
