Millennium Pharmaceuticals 1996 - 2000

Director – Quality Engineering Services consisting of QA, Technical Documentation, Operations and Configuration and Release Management. Linda started as an individual contributor doing manual validation on their computer systems and progressed through several management levels to director by listening to the problems and finding smart and cost-effective ways to solve the bottlenecks..

• Served as Project Manager on a critical project costing under $10 million and worth $429 million in revenues
• Brought order to a chaotic software development and maintenance organization by writing and implementing a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enable this group to develop software in an orderly, cost-effective manner cutting the development time down, from average of 18 months to 3 months, for new releases of their genomic applications. Named this development methodology Relentless Application Development (details presented at the ASM conference winning Best Paper).
• Responsible for completing application and providing database applications for this company’s partners, triggering much-needed milestone payments
• Developed software documentation and testing standards
• Grew the Quality Engineering department from nothing to twenty-five individuals by hiring candidates over a nine month period in a marketplace in which it was extremely difficult to find qualified people
• Created an environment in which there was higher customer satisfaction because the customers began to get what they wanted, when they wanted it
• Web design for the Informatics portal to support 100+ engineers
