Coded four programs for Asynchronous processing to facilitate Distributed Transaction Processing.

Applied knowledge of CICS 1.7 to several efforts, including the creation and implementation of a claims system and a utility to provide back-up and restore capabilities for all files logged to the system log files.
Diagnosed and analyzed installation-specific problems with CICS 1.7 once software migrated to the 3084 from the 4381 and provided assistance with CICS 1.7 and the MRO environment.

Designed, coded and implemented a Note Screen transaction allowing the operator to format text via a terminal or workstation and transmit to a target location using CICS 1.7 command level through Distributed Transaction Processing (DTP).
Coded and implemented a Pass Thru transaction to facilitate the use of multiple regions through VTAM for all on-line sessions. Modified the NCP for linkages performed in ALC.
Added further functionality to place tasks on the Active Task Chain within CICS to
schedule resource utilization and DEQ facilities.
Created a CICS internal transaction to monitor transaction response time and to determine any transaction contention when dispatched from the active task chain.
Added further functionality to this program to suspend tasks which have a low priority to allow higher running priority tasks to resume execution.
Designed and implemented an on-line CICS transaction system for data entry which provided a full update capability to transfer funds from customer accounts to all available fund systems. (This application system was later sold as proprietary software in February, 1986.)
Re-designed all file structures and elements to conform to IBM standards.
Reconfigured CICS Rel 1.5 to accommodate the application of transient data queues.
Added monitoring functionality to the Systems Initialization Table (SIT) to track cross system monitoring for diagnostic testing between two hosts.
Created a multi threaded session with LU6.2 protocols to facilitate communication with multiple Logical Units to interface with an on-line session and to provide Function Shipping to a remote session. The system was coded with ALC and Macro Level routines for customization of the next release of CICS/XA.
OnLine Software International December 1976 - March 1977
Created several proprietary programs for commercial use to support a large vendor base for an online diagnostic tool. Tested various algorithms for complex ALC code to support Macro Level subroutines and processes.
Defined and developed Phase 3 Rel 4.6 of OSI’s Intertest for monitoring CICS command and Macro Level source code which was translated into executable object. Added further functionality to provide more flexibility when running this monitor to reduce storage overhead when multiple sessions are active.
BETA tested DTP Distributed Transaction Processing for communication to remote sessions and to allow asynchronous processing through LU6.2 Links to execute in separate address areas.
Performed routine PTF’s and customer attention lists to determine all problems which exist with the commercial software for vendor use. Once defined and corrected, the customer would reinstall software and further BETA testing would resume.
Supported the INTERTEST configurations department to control the problems with other
releases of INTERTEST and other products which were created or purchased for commercial use.
