Duties involved Capacity planning, Defining DB2 and CICS address space, creation of
all utility software and installation of commercial subsystems and application specific software.
All DB2 objects were created(Tablespaces, Tables, Indexspaces and Indexes).
All CICS regions were configured and loaded with application specific data.	
Databases and VSAM files were created and maintained in accordance with customers specifications and maintained with performance tuning techniques and procedures to ensure an optimum performing CICS/DB2 system.
Trained, interviewed and hired the development staff of 5 to support their Training Database effort and provided on-going support for all technical and administrative problems. Provided on-going enhancements to this application environment to adapt to new products, features and functionality for CICS/DB2.

Installed and Configured the DB2 environment and environmental specific software and data base structure.
	Managed an application group for multiple projects for the MIS division.

Designed and coded a VSAM Performance tuning monitor to correct the internal attributes characteristics of VSAM files and to improve the Batch and online cycles.

serving local customer networks and end-users at this financial services company.  Applications used include accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, corporate accounting, general accounting, loan servicing, investor accounting and payroll.
Prepared and presented customized programs for CICS Rel 3.1 and DB2 course preparation in the Computer Services Division using ALC and COBOL.
  	Provided ALC courses for all programmers using the payroll applications.
Served as Technical Troubleshooter for all technical problems and provided direction and support for researching technical tools unique to this installation. 
  	Enhanced system architecture through product analysis and provided performance tuning 
techniques and theorems for all on-line and batch systems.
Retuned all ALC and SQL code to accommodate new system interface software and to maintain existing system structure. IMS/DB was used to create and maintain customer profiles.
Diagnosed and coded several Telon and Gener/Ol online programs for use with the Mortgage/Investment Group.

IBM									October 1981 - October 1984


Designed, maintained and supported a CICS 2.3 environment for The Integrated Reasoning Shell (TIRS), an IBM user proprietary software package which handles artificial intelligence embeddable language for this expert system using PLI/ and ALC.
Maintained the CICS start-up deck, tables, management modules and related software from the IBM-supplied distribution tape.
Coded four programs for Asynchronous processing to facilitate Distributed Transaction Processing.
  	Created all software and provided project leadership for a staff of six.
  	Directed a staff of 11 for Rel 3.4 at the Federal Aviation Association.
Installed OSI's Intertest and DBD's Diagnostic Monitor to provide testing tools for the on-line systems created for this release.
Researched and corrected addressing file structure incompatibility for all file structures using locate mode processing for VSAM files within Rel 3.2 for CICS.
Stress tested DB2 Rel 2.1 for multi threading with two LPAR's on an IBM 3090 and created a test, development and production DB2 environment.


RIGGS Bank							January 1979 - September 1981 


	Senior DB2 DBA supporting 4 2 Taerabyte applications.
Applied knowledge of CICS 1.7 to  several efforts, including the creation and implementation of a claims system and a utility to provide back-up and restore capabilities for all files logged to the system log files.
Diagnosed and analyzed installation-specific problems with CICS 1.7 once software migrated to the 3084 from the 4381 and provided assistance with CICS 1.7 and the MRO environment.
Critiqued the Property Accounting subsystem to recommend efficiency improvements; monitored the Efficiency Tests system and provided ongoing technical support.
Prepared course materials for quarterly DB2/SQL classes for a group of DB2 developers and served as the resident course instructor.
  	Prepared course materials for quarterly CICS Command Level DB2/SQL classes for a 	group

IBM								March 1977 - January1979


Designed, coded and implemented a Note Screen transaction allowing the operator to format text via a terminal or workstation and transmit to a target location using CICS 1.7 command level through Distributed Transaction Processing (DTP).
Coded and implemented a Pass Thru transaction to facilitate the use of multiple regions through VTAM for all on-line sessions. Modified the NCP for linkages performed in ALC.
  	Added further functionality to place tasks on the Active Task Chain within CICS to
          	schedule resource utilization and DEQ facilities.   
Created a CICS internal transaction to monitor transaction response time and to determine any transaction contention when dispatched from the active task chain.
Added further functionality to this program to suspend tasks which have a low priority to allow higher running priority tasks to resume execution.
Designed and implemented an on-line CICS transaction system for data entry which provided a full update capability to transfer funds from customer accounts to all available fund systems. (This application system was later sold as proprietary software in February, 1986.)
  	Re-designed all file structures and elements to conform to IBM standards.
  	Reconfigured CICS Rel 1.5 to accommodate the application of transient data queues.
Added monitoring functionality to the Systems Initialization Table (SIT) to track cross system monitoring for diagnostic testing between two hosts.
Created a multi threaded session with LU6.2 protocols to facilitate communication with multiple Logical Units to interface with an on-line session and to provide Function Shipping to a remote session. The system was coded with ALC and Macro Level routines for customization of the next release of CICS/XA.



OnLine Software International				December 1976 - March 1977


Created several proprietary programs for commercial use to support a large vendor base for an online diagnostic tool. Tested various algorithms for complex ALC code to support Macro Level subroutines and processes.
Defined and developed Phase 3 Rel 4.6 of OSI’s Intertest for monitoring CICS command and Macro Level source code which was translated into executable object. Added further functionality to provide more flexibility when running this monitor to reduce storage overhead when multiple sessions are active.
BETA tested DTP Distributed Transaction Processing for communication to remote sessions and to allow asynchronous processing through LU6.2 Links to execute in separate address areas.
Performed routine PTF’s and customer attention lists to determine all problems which exist with the commercial software for vendor use. Once defined and corrected, the customer would reinstall software and further BETA testing would resume.
Supported the INTERTEST configurations department to control the problems with other 
releases of INTERTEST and other products which were created or purchased for commercial use.
