Project Description

CertainTeed Corporation is a leading manufacturer of quality building materials, for new construction and home remodeling needs like Insulation, vinyl windows, vinyl & fiber cement siding, roofing, pvc pipe, fencing, decking, railing, attic ventilation and foundation systems.

CertainTeed has proposed an enterprise wide implementation of SAP supply chain planning & decision support systems. The Key Drivers for the implementation include:

Operational inefficiencies within Production Planning process areas

Need to implement more robust and better-integrated supply chain technology

Limited life expectancy of BPCS (Legacy system)

Foundation for future enhancement of technology and process solutions

SAP implementation for CertainTeed where the R/3 will go live with all the modules and business processes required for enabling SCM with APO. The SAP R/3 and APO implementation is done with SCM-enabling as the focus. The program will use the Accelerated SAP (ASAP) implementation process. Accelerated SAP was built from SAP’s best implementation practices and will empower CertainTeed with tools, templates, questionnaires and the skills to exploit the power of SAP products and systems.

CertainTeed’s enterprise currently runs BPCS as its ERP system along with a few other third-party tools and decision-making systems. BPCS and other systems will co-exist with R/3 and APO even after the last go-live to perform the processing that has not been migrated to R/3.

Functional Scope

Implementation of SAP APO 3.1 DP, SNP and PPDS

Implementation of SAP R/3 4.6 C modules: FI, CO, MM and PP to support the APO

            implementation.

The implementation would cover 4 Plants, 3 Service Centers and 12 Satellite Warehouses in USA.
