2 years – Verizon Wireless,
Environment: Telecommunications,
Billing, Customer Care, Invoice/Statement logic and formatting, Legal and
correspondence letter generation, formatting logic and printing, mainframe and
PC interactions - IBM Mainframe z/OS 1.4-1.8 (TSO, ISPF, JCL, Utilities,
Fileaid, SyncSort, VSAM, COBOL II, DB2, FTP, NDM, CA7); PC (Windows 2000, MS
Office (Word, Excel, Visio), Exstream Dialogue (Mainframe & PC), Dialogue
Anywhere, Custom Statement Formatter (CSF), Advanced Function Presentation
(AFP), IBM OnDemand
- Senior Systems Analyst,
Technical Analyst, Project Coordinator, Business Analyst, Documentation
Specialist for Verizon Wireless (VZW) Customer Care (Universal Invoice Module
division) during a major Billing
Redesign, migration and conversion project from an existing process using
Custom Statement Formatter (CSF) to a new bill format and design using Exstream Dialogue and Dialogue Anywhere.
I worked with VZW technical staff, upper and middle management, business
analysts, mainframe (DASD management, performance, operations and scheduling)
during the design and implementation process. I also worked with Dialogue
technical and management staff, PC, UNIX and NDM specialists to continue
development and finalize implementation of the Billing Redesign system. Our
group at VZW remained the leading edge of development with Exstream Dialogue,
by using the latest versions of Management Release software (5.5.117–5.5.411).
I was the main person in the group to organize, add to and maintain
documentation related to general knowledge, procedures, troubleshooting and
past history used during our process. I became the sole person to handle all
processing related to generation and maintenance of legal and correspondence
letters. I helped to implement a process to store letters to an IBM OnDemand database
for reference and reprint. I became an instrumental person in the group to work
on Exstream Dialogue procedures and problems related to creation and uploading
of new execution pubs, Anywhere message pubs and mainframe JCL used to maintain
and reference these pubs. I coded and modified Dialogue formulas, message
campaigns and rules, reference files, different output queues and AFP NOOP (no
operation) and TLE (tag logical element) records. I worked in all system
regions and environments and in all phases of project development and
implementation (analysis, testing, QA, PreBill and Production). I worked with
operations and CA7 scheduling to develop Driver PROCS, which minimized the
repetition of JCL and execution PROCS. I used my technical expertise and documentation
skills to explain operations and functionality between different departments,
different environments and different languages (UNIX, Windows, IBM Mainframe,
NDM, FTP, COBOL, JCL, C++, Oracle, ASCII and EBCDIC formatted data files and
different packages used in each environment). I convinced different departments
to save e-mail size by placing large files in common server areas; then use
hyperlinks to reference these large files and documents. I designed and
implemented procedures to work around software package problems, until the
software company could release an acceptable enhancement. I created procedures
and implemented production releases. I established and maintained a
documentation area in the common server area for current reference and instant
communication between all parties.
.3 years – Global eXchange
