What they want on site is a Solution Architect.

This Solution Architect is involved with implementation teams, is able to guide the implementation teams on what Siebel Best Practices are ... is able to guide coding process .. .overall he should be able to ensure the implementation teams are doing the right things. E.g. Calculated Values is a very well know best practice that Siebel recommends... any SA should know about it. Development teams should never violate this best practice... thats the type of person client wants. Also Siebel 8.0 implementation experience is a must.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities)
Be a strong team player with good technical leadership in various areas of Siebel and across different external systems/middle-tier interfaces for both Service & ITO Platforms as part of the BA Center Of Excellence (COE). Major responsibilities include:
Responsible for understanding the existing Architecture and drive all the future organization wide architecture initiatives aligning to Siebel.
Review the technical design across multiple projects and see to that there are no conflicts and also ensure that the solution meets best practices both internal/external to Siebel.
Provide Technical Expertise from the architectural perspective to the development team.
Responsible for making sure the development team meets all the compliance guidelines and all the security measures have been taken care successfully, especially when the Siebel application is exposed outside the firewall.
Responsible for collaborating with internal/external teams resolving technical issues and drive the best practices.
Provide regular updates to the Manager on status of the assigned activities and ensure delivery on time based on the proposed plans with focus on quality.

Qualifications/ Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in IT (or equivalent), related field, or work-related job experience
Expertise in Siebel Configuration, eScripting, Workflows/Assignment Manager.
Expertise UCM/Analytics/Configurator/Pricing or Sales & Marketing or Service modules
- Functional process expertise for Sales & Marketing person
Has good depth & breadth of Siebel Architecture and experience of Interfacing with multiple systems.
Good Understanding of the Oracle database, networking, UNIX, Sun Solaris and Middleware(s).
