Integration Consultant-Supply Chain Management

Developed Integration/EDI maps and related processes with the WTX Design Studio and other applications in the WTX tool set. Responsible for creating integration maps for processing inbound and outbound data and integrating that data into the clients supply chain management solution. Analyzed current architecture along with other onsite resources to determine the best integration strategy based on the clients needs.  Created transaction sets in various ANSI X12 EDI/Integration formats:

#820s (Remittance Advice) inbound

#824s (Application Advice) inbound

#830s (Planning Schedules) inbound

#850s (Purchase Orders) inbound

#860s (Purchase Order Changes) inbound

#861s (Material Receipt) inbound

#862s (Material Release) inbound

#856s (Shipping Notices) outbound

#810s (Invoices) Outbound

The data communication was handled by utilizing a Virtual Private Network set up with Nortel Networks.  The data transmission and map execution environment was handled by iPlanets ECXpert. After determining the mapping/integration strategy, set out to create the maps as follows:

Review client ICs (Implementation Conventions) and Logical Maps prior to the creation of type trees and physical maps.

Created a pruned type trees to define and describe the incoming data. Inserted clients specific business related logic into maps.

Next, the inbound data was mapped to an SQL text file.  At this point the data is ready for the next stage of processing.

The following stage of processing entails loading the SQL text files and then mapping the data to the Oracle holding tables.

#850s (Purchase Orders) inbound

#867s (Rebate and Sales Tracing Reports) inbound

#856s (Shipping Notices) inbound

The data communication was handled by utilizing a Virtual Private Network set up with GE Information Services (GEIS).  The data transmission and map execution environment was handled by Mercators Commerce Broker (Today, known as WTX Trading Manager).  After determining mapping strategy, we set out to create the maps as follows:

Created a pruned type trees to define and describe the incoming data.  Next, mapping the inbound data to an intermediate file.  A header was mapped along with its corresponding line items.  Inserted business related rules as needed.  A report file was created to notify (by Email) the users of any errors at this stage of processing.  At this point the data is ready for the next stage of processing.

The following stage of processing entails reading the intermediate files and then mapping the data to the Oracle staging tables.

Create the type tree to describe the data in the intermediate file.  Map the data into the database (Headers and Lines) based on business specific rules.  Create type trees based on the tables using the Mercator database interface designer.
