Summary

Allan Holbrook is a Senior Systems Analyst who has been in the software technology field for over 20 years. Senior Systems Architect

·     Responsible for and successfully completed a new architecture and strategy with the result of providing a new brokerage administration solution to replace the legacy system.

·     Followed Zachman Framework methodology to lead successful project. Initially reviewed the overall environment and quickly understood the strategic requirements for the organization.

·     Successfully brought the architectural phase of the project to completion in order for the organization to implement the new system.

·     Tools used included Erwin Data Modeling tools, Microsoft’s DTS services and Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Also contributed to the design and direction for the new .NET based solutions that were designed for the new brokerage solution.

·     Responsible for the successful implementation of the new Community Based Contributions Management System. Worked closely with project manager to define tasks and roles for the project.

·     Prior to Allan being contracted to be team lead for this project, there were two very high profile companies over the previous two years who unsuccessfully attempted to accomplish the task. As a result, he was brought into a very high profile, demanding environment to complete the project against a hard deadline as a result of the mandatory decommissioning of the legacy systems by the end of the year.

·     Allan successfully architected the solution and had it implemented for January 1st on schedule. There were several people on the team who vocally expressed the impossibility of the task, yet when the new systems were switched over on time, it was marked as a major accomplishment for the whole organization.

·     Solution implemented using 3rd party solution that supported VBA integration services against Oracle database. Additional tools included Erwin Data Modeling tools for database design.

·     Other tools include Visual Basic, Oracle PL/SQL, Blackbaud Fundraising Software, and Crystal Reports 7.

·     Responsible for the architectural direction of the company’s web solutions and to provide project management for multiple projects needed to take the company to the next level with web solution services.

·     Major project was a very prominent online project that would build a unique revenue stream for the organization. This solution was designed and implemented to use an n-Tier design and SOAP technology to provide virtual real time results from the website in Seattle, WA to the call center in Denver, CO.

3rd Party Distribution Enterprise Architect

·     Responsible for the overall architecture for the organization’s 3rd party distribution group of their financial advisors group.

·     As part of the American Express enterprise architecture team, I was responsible for working with executive management to provide strategic leadership for the needs of 3rd party distribution in the future.

·     Lead Architect for major data warehousing project for 3rd Party Distribution group.

·     Project manager for customization project to implement key features to Onyx CRM to support business processes of 3rd party distribution system’s sales team.

·     The role required the management for all 3rd party distribution projects conformed to the overall architectural direction of the organization with respect to application, date warehousing, systems, technical and network architecture strategies.

·     Development company for the lumber industry. Developed using PROGRESS DBMS; both character based and the GUI environment.

·     Responsibilities included the successful implementation and management of several forest industry projects.
