Special Projects

Received Customer Satisfaction Award for providing the new DB2 System Design Team with the best documentation for a legacy system.

Analyzed, researched, designed the basic data flow between the new DB2 system and the PRISM legacy system for the Bridging Project. Designed, coded, tested batch program that mimicked CICS 'Add New Member' and 'Change Member' functionality. Program served as a source of 'reusable code' for basic PRISM functions. Data flow and program supported new functionality with minimal changes.

Enhanced specs for Pools Indicator Project in which two new fields were to be changed on-line. Researched, analyzed, coded, and tested the new functionality in CICS. Functionality included both modified and new Maps, Programs, Transaction ID's, Reports, Security, Audit Trail, SIT(System Initialization Table) changes. The new functionality took four weeks to complete and saved production 50 hours per week.

Analyzed the impact of Migration Project(migration of data from the legacy sytem to the new DB2 system) on PRISM. Participated in multi- disciplinary team. Desinged CICS and batch changes to legacy. Served as project leader with 4 consultants. Wrote specs and test plans. Coordinated use of test files. Coded and tested all CICS changes. PRISM was the first legacy system to release required migration changes.

Researched, designed, coded programs for P2 Conversion Project (movement of data to new CICS region for semi-automation of claims payment). Functioned as liaison with P2 (claims). Provided technical and business support, and training. Helped system programmers set up 'copy' of PRISM. Participated in dry runs prior to installation. Conversion went live without incident and progressed faster than anticipated.

Researched and fixed a major long-standing Billing and Accounts Receivable problem.

Translated RDPII Manual (IBM software to separate reports on designated criteria). Set up and tested JCL with extensive documentation for use by production.

Wrote TSO Manual targeted to PRISM Quality Assurance area's specific needs in TSO after CMS operating system was switched to TSO operating system.
