Experience |
||
2000 - 12/2013 |
Iron Mountain | Boston, MA |
Software Architect |
■ |
Acted as technical lead,
transitioning work from an offshore team in Sri Lanka, to a team consisting of 4
engineers, in Bangalore, India. This involved training the India team with
established SDLC processes, gathering requirements from business sponsors,
prioritizing and assigning work items, and coordinating production releases. |
■ |
Implemented SharePoint
Variations, to extend intranet application (branded as Scout) to the global
business audience. Translations for Microsoft-supplied content was managed using
language packs, while translated custom content was provided by a combination of
resource files (RESX), SharePoint resource lists and custom utility classes.
Further, we chose not to leverage the Microsoft-supplied propagation
functionality. Rather, we developed our own configurable propagation feature
that provided more flexibility, to propagate only selected content. |
■ |
Upgraded Scout from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010. This included upgrading from
UI3 to UI4, and establishing new user profile synchronization service (including
MIIS/Forefront Identity Manager). |
■ |
Acted as technical lead, overseeing an offshore team, in Sri Lanka, consisting
of 2 software engineers, and 2 QA engineers. Conducted performance testing,
using Load Runner automated testing suite. Coordinated all production releases. |
■ |
Trained and supported power
business partners on how to build and publish browser-based forms, using
InfoPath Forms Services. |
■ |
Developed Capital Expenditure
Request (CER) application, hosted upon Iron Mountain’s legacy intranet. Designed
and implemented database schema, with focus on strong data typing, usage of
triggers, foreign keys, unique keys, check constraints, and stored procedures.
Installed, designed and implemented database topology, including optimum
placement of database files (for distributed I/O) and developed all automated
backup and maintenance scripts and stored procedures. Further, this application
utilized multiple database integrations to Oracle Financials (Budgets and
Actuals), Oracle Property Management, and Exchange Global Address List (GAL). |
■ |
Installed, and developed Iron
Mountain’s 1st intranet web site, based upon Site Server 3.0, supplemented by
Front Page Server Extensions. Further, engineered ODBC integration between SQL
Server 7.0 and Lotus Notes. Provided SQL Server DBA support, before the
formation of Iron Mountain’s official SQL Server DBA team. |
■ |
Stabilized and tuned critical keyword search functionality of an extranet web
site servicing 150 major accounts that had previously outgrown the inherent
design limits of Microsoft’s Full-Text Search option of SQL Server 7.0. |
7/2000 - 2002 |
Street Machines, Inc. | Scituate, MA |
President |
|
2/1997 - 8/2000 | TAC Worldwide Companies | Newton, MA |
SQL Server DBA/Web Administrator |
■ | Developed
& deployed redesigned, mission critical, multi-homed (11) Corporate
websites, including an extranet component that allowed distributed field
offices to manage and maintain Job Postings.
System provided automated inbound job feeds from distributed Bond Resume
Management Systems, and automated
outbound feeds to GoJobs, Monster Board, Dice and Restrack. System also included automated Fetch
subsystem which would email job matches nightly to subscribers, based upon
subscribers search criterion and skill sets. Also responsible for administration and support of SQL Server, NT, IIS,
MTS objects, and batch jobs related to this system. |
■ | Developed & deployed clustered Extranet application that acted as an invoice clearing house, transacting millions of dollars per week, receiving feeds from an external EDI Gateway, and extracting feeds to an external Computron/SAP AP system, a VSE mainframe AR system, and an Oracle8 data warehouse. This system also contained a component that allowed on-site personnel to manage and maintain invoices and supporting requisitions. Also responsible for administration and support of SQL Server, NT, IIS, MTS objects, Cluster Server, and batch jobs related to this system. |
3/1995 - 8/1997 | TAC Worldwide Companies | Newton, MA |
Oracle DBA - Unix Administrator |
■ | Designed,
installed, and implemented Oracle Data Warehouse server, hosted on a Sun
Enterprise 1000 server, and an EMC Mass Storage system. This also included the development of
multiple Winbatch/DOS batch scripts to perform automated data transfers from
IBM mainframe to PC and Unix platforms to support Data Warehouse. |
■ |
Supervised Unix/Oracle/Internet team of 4 technicians. |
■ | Designed and developed first Client/Server applications using Power Builder, backed by Watcom database. Later this also involved upgrading applications from Power Builder 3.0 to 4.0, and from Watcom to Oracle7 Server. |
2/1990 - 2/1995 |
TAC Worldwide Companies | Newton, MA |
