The objectives of this large project was to acquire/develop
and implement an integrated supply chain information system to provide Philips Semiconductors with the ability
to support future growth, manage its business and serve customer needs. My goal
and responsibility there was to replace existing Gentran Translator with Amtrix
mapper/translator and ensure smooth integration with the new SAP R3 system.
As part of this task, I was responsible to facilitate the
development of Functional Specifications
based on existing programs & user exits written in COBOL and analysis of existing
JCL & copybooks. My other responsibilities included: writing
procedures for the group of EDI consultants, developing QA & Testing Procedures and performing Quality
Assurance procedures, working closely with SAP functional consultants to map ANSI X12 and EDIFACT messages into the
SAP and an IDOC, as well as developing Technical
Specifications for the Mapping Factory team in India.
