Worked in the capacity of MIS Manager, leading a team of two. This company moved to a new location in the month of November 2000. I as the MIS Manager, had designed, evaluated and implemented all the needs for an efficient Voice and Data System. This planning was major as the company moved to a facility four times larger than the earlier office. As such, the user base went up from 30 workstations to 175 workstations. The company later opened two more offices in Texas and California for which I designed and implemented the Firewall and VPN solution. As the MIS Manager, my specific responsibilities were:
·	Implement and manage the infrastructure for Voice
·	Implement and manage the Data infrastructure.
·	Involved in business decisions regarding all aspects of the company’s communications requirements
·	Transitioned the company’s telephone lines to new service providers at a much competitive rates.
·	Manage and maintain a Network Operations Center to ensure availability and performance requirements are met to achieve a near 100% uptime.
·	Manage, configure, and install Cisco routers, switches and Sonicwall firewall and VPN.
·	Manage and administer MAS90/200.
·	Participate in the business planning meetings with the management and suggest the appropriate solution for implementing any new voice/data service.

Webvan Group.  (April 2000 to June 2000) San Francisco, CA
	
Team member in the IT Operations department. This department was a support department for the whole organization. Responsibilities were to monitor the whole network as well as the websites of WebVan. Tools used to monitor were HP Openview.

I was supporting their Exchange 5.5 servers with the user base of  about 5000+ users spread over in California/Atlanta/Chicago.


Bayt.com, Inc.  (Jan 2000 to April 2000) NY, NY
	
Lead and participate in the design & implementation of networking solutions, support servers & other advanced h/w, s/w when appropriate. Responsibilities included of building a network consisting of Windows NT and Linux operating systems. Designing of Disaster recovery planning, capacity planning / asset management.

-	Setup of a network of two servers with 30 clients.  Install of Windows NT and SCO UNIX with Oracle on UNIX server and Power Builder on the NT Server.

-	Setting up of a network of two servers with 30 clients. Installing of Windows NT and SCO UNIX with Oracle on UNIX server.
-	Also imparted training to staff on the administration of the network. Implementing of IIS and Proxy server for Intranet environment within the organization.

Client: Kristeel Shinwa Private Ltd 		Aug ‘97 to Aug ‘98

An organization manufacturing of Stainless Steel Industrial Measuring Equipment.

Environment:  A network layout consisting of a stackable array of 24-port UTP based 100M bps hubs each dedicated at throughput.

Windows NT 4.0 Server with 20 plus clients on Windows ’95 / NT Workstation.  Installation and Administration of MS Access and Visual Basic for in-house development of application controlling the production and accounts.

Also established connectivity between the offices at Mumbai and Silvassa.

Built a  system designed to incorporate all inventory activities, business, and purchases and store locations. System capabilities include inquiry, comparison of quotations and the monitoring of purchase orders against inventory, which is maintained by various store departments. The system maintains and tracks the receipt of goods against a purchase order, the issue of these goods to the various departments and updating the stock levels accordingly.


Client: Anand International, Mumbai , India		Jun ‘95 to July ‘97

A garment export organization.

Environment:  A network layout consisting of a stackable hub of 24-port UTP based dedicated at 100Mbps throughput.

NetWare 3.12 Server with 10 plus clients on DOS/Windows ’95.

This companies major business was of garment export. They needed an application which would take care of all the customs/ export rules and regulations for all the transactions made. The application was developed using Power Builder.



Neelam Consultancy – Systems Manager – August 86 – June 93 Bombay, India

Highlights:

An organization offering share-broking in the Bombay Stock Exchange. It also had divisions of Film Exhibition and Finance.

Environment:  Novell Netware 2.2/3.12 with Windows 3.11/95 clients

Design / setup of Netware environment to support 25 nodes.  Windows for Workgroups installation to support file-& printer sharing capabilities over the Netware environment. Developed a application which would take care of all the transactions done in the Stock Market and generate various reports. This application was developed using Foxpro.
