- As Systems Architect and Project Lead, developed a system
to improve the existing T+2 localized Equities Market Risk Reports into
a Global T+1 reporting system delivered via email and the intranet.
- Designed and developed the
following systems:
- Equities Position Import
system to extract all London equities positions from existing Front,
Middle and Back Office Systems. Data was obtained from various sources,
including Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle, Excel and Text Feeds.
- Position/Sensitivity
Aggregation Engine took the consolidated London Equities positions,
allowing the risk analysts to reconcile the books and quickly find any
anomalies to be reported to the traders. Once the position data was
fully cleansed it was exported to the Global Risk Database.
- Global Risk Database for all
positions from North America, Europe, Latin America and the Far East.
Fully optimized the database and created scripts for importing of all
global position data.
- Variance Covariance Risk
Report Generator, allowed Market Risk to be viewed globally, ensured
limits were not exceeded, provided compliance information and generated
‘what if’ scenarios for many potential global crisis simulations. This
was later modified to use Historical Simulation instead of Variance
Covariance. Reports were available on the intranet and email directly
to traders.
- Open Bloomberg Data
Extraction Tool imported time series, betas and weightings for the
entire universe of traded indices and stocks. The system cleansed the
data and generated an export of stock and index volatility. This
information was used in the Risk Reporter.
