As the GIS team
lead, I am responsible for architecting a complete GIS solution for the Global
Shared Platform initiative. I am
leading a design and development effort to meet all project requirements from a
GIS standpoint and deliver a robust, flexible and highly scalable solution,
with the goal of first migrating current mainframe clients and others later.
As a consultant
with Sterling Services, I engage in implementation projects with Sterling
customers to perform EDI system analysis, documentation, installation,
configuration, mapping, business process and communication configuration for
Gentran Integration Suite (3.0 through 4.1). Working with the client, I troubleshoot
existing EDI issues as well as design and implement new solutions to improve
their EDI system’s functionality and efficiency. I have worked on projects and
implemented GIS solutions for a number of industry-leading companies including:
Molex Inc.
Eaton Trucking
Corp.
Parker Hannifin

Do It Best Corp.
Standard &
Poors
Brightpoint Inc.
Part of the GIS
(Gentran Integration Suite) development team, responsibilities included
delivering intricate mapping solutions as part of the development and support
of two new GIS-supported standards. Largely responsible for adding VDA (German
Automotive Standard) support to GIS, including associated business processes
(BPML), code base changes and envelope configuration. Integral part of the team
that brought SWIFT support to GIS
this included many weeks of analysis and design, ultimately leading to
creation and support of 240+ SWIFT FIN messages including syntax validation and
400+ message (business) level validation rules. Worked in a very team-oriented
atmosphere on projects while providing support to other development teams from
time to time with mapping issues including XML and SQL DB messages.
Responsible for creating maps (Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) and BizTalk Server 2004) for processing inbound and outbound data and integrating that data into the clients back end solution. Analyzing current architecture together with other resources to determine the best EDI strategy based on the clients needs.
Creating maps for transaction sets in various ANSI X12 EDI
formats:

#824’s (Application Advice)

#830’s (Planning Schedules)
inbound
#850’s (Purchase Orders) inbound
#860’s (Purchase Order Changes)

Working on Marketing, Customer and Logistic cycles of the business, including mapping (Gentran 5.3 UNIX), configuration and end-to-end testing with various Nortel divisions and North American and European customers and suppliers. I am mostly involved in developing new ANSI X12 and EDIFACT maps, from or into an SAP 4.6 IDOCs (or Nortel’s proprietary format). This activity includes all phases of development, such as, analysis, testing, configuration, documentation and implementation with the trading partners.
The objective of this project was to develop and implement an integrated information system to provide CargoMatrix with the ability to support future growth, manage its business and serve customer needs. Responsibilities included but were not limited to: GAP analysis, integration of existing internal document formats, map development using Gentran: Application Integrator (NT) for ANSI-X12 810, 850 and 856 documents, and complete testing, implementation and configuration of new maps.
