I am a seasoned IT professional looking for challenging work in Business Intelligence. During my years I have had many successful engagements as developer, administrator, lead and manager. For the past fifteen years my focus has been helping clients with Business Intelligence.
My BI experience is usually hands-on, broad and deep. For most clients I help them architect their environment then design and document the processes and procedures to build it. Usually I end up as the lead on their ETL or presentation team, helping them master the required skills and create appropriate policies. I’ve worked with proponents of Inmon’s EDW and Kimbal’s bus approach, but most of my work has been in line with Kimbal’s approach.
I provided CNC, security and tools advice and support for JDE ERP implementations. In most cases my time was spent guiding training and problem solving. I designed and documented many import, export and interface processes that I helped the client’s staff create and implement.
Our team supported four sites utilizing Windows and HP-UX servers and Windows clients over a WAN. We were responsible for replacing Novell with Windows and active directory, and adopting the MicroSoft office suite. I also managed the technical team during the implementation of JDEdwards ERP at two of our sites.
We saved an unstable and ill managed ERP application. The CIO brought me in because we had experience rescuing a similarly troubled application. No big secret – create best practice policies and procedures for application management, automate as much as you can, and train your staff how to do it.
After three years programming in the Army, I spent many years designing, coding and maintaining applications in many languages on mostly VAX and Unix platforms. The methods and tools I mastered in the Army allowed me to excel as an analyst and programmer.
I earned my B.S. in Business from the University of Cincinnati with a focus on information processing systems.
