·        Successfully completed the suggested implementation plan for MAPICS Inventory Management module (IM) for Palliser’s upholstery division. 

·        The plan includes process improvements in addition to system changes to facilitate these improvements.

·        Successfully managed the implementation of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) module of MAPICS.

·        The new system allows for proper planning of the procurement of leather in order to eliminate stock-outs and optimise inventory levels.

·        The implemented system is expected to significantly improve the leather inventory turns which will result is great cost savings.

·        Successfully managed the re-implementation of Knowledge Based Configurator (KBC) and Product Data Management (PDM) modules of MAPICS.

·        The new system allows for practical centralised storage and maintenance of the product data to facilitate more consistent product and order costing.

·        The implemented system also helps resolve an existing speed to market issue.

Duration: October 2003 – March 2004

Technology: i-series/400, RPG400/ILE, Bar coding / Data Collection, UPC/SCC and ERP (MAPICS).   

·        Successfully managed the development and implementation of UPC/SCC support in the existing serialised RF data collection system.

·        UPCs and SCCs were needed for the growing retail operations. Its support had to be integrated seamlessly with the application that was shared with five other divisions.

·        The new system also achieved its goals of speeding up the receiving process for large quantities of small items, as with UPC/SCC there is no need to serialise these items.

·        Successfully managed the development and implementation of automation to the Work-In-Process (WIP) tracking system.

·        The developed system achieved cost savings due to the reduction in the labour needed to handle these WIP tracking transactions.

·        The system was designed to find the earliest possible date where all the order’s items are available and move the order to this date.

-         Kanban Vendor Re-ordering system for purchased material.

-         Same plant and inter-plant transfer transactions.

-         Adjustment transactions.

-         Production reporting and its reversals.

-         Palletized Shipping and its reversals or additions.

·        Successfully supported and co-ordinated the rollout of the system to one other plant.

·        Successfully completed the system requirement definition of a sequence-broadcasting project for NAL’s customer Nissan.
