    Description: Your new company Stelco, an International Steel Manufacturing and Production organization, is actively looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer and Integration Specialist to join their IT team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognized brand and work within an energetic, like-minded team. The job will be located in the Hamilton office in Ontario. This is a 6 month contract to perm opportunity. Your new role In this job as a Mainframe Developer and Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining systems supporting the Primary and /or Finishing area. Duties and responsibilities include: Modify moderately complex applications programs from detailed specifications under general supervision Develop, test, debug, document and maintain programs and systems Work competently on most phases of applications programming activities with minimal instruction and guidance Support critical production systems in a timely fashion, and troubleshoot problems and maximize operating efficiencies with minimal interruption Work competently at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment Develop and maintain the integration and ETL code to interface the plant systems with Microsoft Dynamix AX and other business applications Develop and support the reporting dashboards for the business Support sales order management and other manufacturing applications What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will have the following qualifications; 10 years of experience integrating mainframe applications with ERP solutions. Programming experience in several of the following: COBOL, CICS, VSAM, DB2 & TSO would be advantageous. You will be a self-motivated individual who also works well in a team environment. A background of working in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset. You will have a logical/analytical thought process and have effective oral and written communication skills.
